Hymns Contest

 

Instructions

• Attendees will have the option to choose between competing on an individual or group level. 

• Based on personal capability, a “competitor” is asked to challenge oneself’s previous knowledge for spiritual enhancement (in contrast to completing an easier tier for greater advantage).

• All tiers must abide by the standards/recordings of the standardized recordings established by the Higher Institute of Coptic Studies, Deacon Ibrahim Ayad, Cantor Gad Luis, or Coptic Hymns in English. 

• You can sign up to participate in the Hymns Contest in your registration for the convention.

1. ROOKIE​

   • Solo: Memorization of the first half of the Sunday Psali for our Lord (through “Create in me a clean heart…” (Coptic or English)

Judging

The judges will evaluate the performance based on the following criteria. All points will be added up to evaluate the overall performance of the team.

• 60% = Correct tune, music, and Coptic/English pronunciation

• 30% = Harmony of performance

• 10% = Attitude
